Data for numerical experiments for one without (Passive) and one with (Active) the radiative effects of dust aerosols.

East Asian dust and its radiative feedbacks are analyzed by the use of the Community Atmosphere Model version 4 (CAM4) with a bulk aerosol model (BAM) parameterization of the dust size distribution (CAM4-BAM). The improved CAM4-BAM uses the finite volume dynamical core for transport calculations with a higher horizontal resolution of 0.9 in the latitudinal direction and 1.25 in the longitudinal direction, with 26 levels in the vertical direction. It is noted that the model used here for the current climate is the same as in Albani et al. (2014), except for the fixed surface sea temperature (SST). To examine the dust-radiation interaction and its climatic effects  (Figure 1), two sets of experiments covering  21 years with a 1-year spin up are performed: without (Passive) and with (Active) the radiative effects of dust aerosols.
