Relevant data Three parallel sediment cores were collected in the depocenter (water depth of ~3.6 m) in the Phayao Lake (N 1911’, E 9953’) in north Thailand using a gravity corer in March 2016. The upper 20 cm of the cores were continuously sliced on the site into 0.5-cm intervals and the remaining core at 1-cm intervals. 137Cs, 210Pb, and 226Ra were measured for chronology dating. The Constant Rate of Supply (CRS) [Appleby, 2001] method with missing inventory correction [Tylmann et al., 2014] was used from chronology reconstruction. Black carbon (BC), char, and soot concentrations were measured using a thermal/optical method. Please refer to Han et al. [2007a; 2009; 2007b]. The concentrations of 24 parent- and alkyl-PAHs, 12 oxygenated PAHs and 4 nitrogen heterocyclic PAHs (azaarenes) were determined with the GC-MS method following Bandowe et al. [2010].
