Data shows that
Grain size and magnetic susceptibility measurements from three last glacial loess-paleosol sequences in the western portion of the Chinese Loess Plateau. Three loess–paleosol sequences are investigated along a northwest–southeast transect: Jingyuan (36°21'N, 104°37'E), Xifeng (35°47'N, 107°36'E), and Weinan (34°21'N, 109°31'E). Powder samples were collected at 2-cm intervals for the Jingyuan section and 5-cm intervals from the Xifeng and Weinan Sections for grain size and magnetic susceptibility analyses. The grain size distribution was determined using a Malvern 2000 laser instrument at the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Samples for optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating were obtained at 25-cm intervals for the upper 2.5 m and 50-cm intervals for the lower part of the Jingyuan section. OSL measurements were conducted using a Daybreak 2200 automated OSL reader equipped with a combined blue (470±5 nm) and infrared (880±80 nm) LED OSL unit, and 90Sr/90Y beta sources (0.115 Gy/s).
